The Soldiers Fuel
Coffee became the staple of military life during the Civil War. It was the most prized ration for soldiers because it provided warmth and energy during long marches. General Benjamin Butler even ordered his men to carry coffee in their canteens instead of water before a night march.
Fun Fact:
In the 18th Century, Williamsburg was home to the famous Charlton's Coffeehouse, where founding fathers (including Jefferson and Washington) gathered to discuss independence over a hot brew.

Honoring the Earth's High Places
There's a certain stillness on Apple Mountain that you just can't find anywhere else. For the last six years, I've spent my mornings here perfecting the craft of small-batch roasting- originally just to keep my family's mugs full. As an Army Veteran, I've always valued community and local roots. That's why I decided it was time to share my passion beyond my own kitchen.
